We are very pleased to add some great products to our online shop. As we all know portable power is a important aspect of modern day camping. Whether it is charging a mobile phone, Ipad or providing light for your tent most of us will need some sort of power supply when out and about.
While researching this area i came across several different solutions to this modern day problem but then i discovered these products by Portable Power Technology. I was very impressed by their finish and build quality and together they provided a very neat and easy to use package that would fulfil all my typical power requirements.
First up is the Powerpack 100+. This tiny package certainly packs a punch. The built in lithium polymer battery provides 150 watt hour power. There are 2 x USB ports and 3 x 12V ports and a 100 watt inverter with an AC output. There is also a built in emergency LED light. The powerpack comes complete with adapters for charging from the mains, solar panel or 12 volt car charger. The built in LCD display shows the state of the battery and the control panel allows easy selection of the different outputs.
The NIWA Home 300 is the perfect partner to the Powerpack 100+. It can be powered from any USB output and provides an impressive 300 lumens of light output. The really impressive feature on this is the dimmable slider, allowing 4 different brightness settings. There is a handy strap for hanging from the top of the tent and the leads all roll neatly into the dimmer switch.
We tested the light with the Powerpack 100+ on all the settings and also charged a mobile phone several times and an iPad once and after 48hrs of testing there was still life in the powerpack.
The Powerpack can be charged before going on a weekend camping trip and i think it would last no problem depending on your power needs but just to make sure the flexible solar panel is perfect for topping up the battery while you are out during the day.
